New head for Ireland inland navigation
Waterways Ireland has appointed a new CEO, Dawn Livingstone, to lead the all-Ireland body.
She takes up the post this week in the Enniskillen HQ of the North-South body created by the Belfast Agreement.
Waterways Ireland is the navigation authority for more than 1,000 inland rivers and lakes, and has assumed development and management responsibilities for the Shannon, Erne and Barrow systems - as well as the Grand Canal and Royal Canal in Dublin.
In 2008 Ms Livingstone became Head of Property & Legal Affairs with Waterways Ireland, responsible for modernising its approach to property management and legal matters.
She holds an MBA from the University of Ulster and is an active sailor, and was the Gallagher’s Northern Ireland Business Woman of the year in 1988.
