Trinity House 2015 AtoN Review Consultation Exercise
Trinity House has recently undertaken a review of their Aids to Navigation (AtoN) provided around the coasts of England, Wales and the Channel Islands
The consultation document includes a summary of the principals and methodology behind the review, together with a schedule of proposed AtoN changes within the jurisdiction of Trinity House. As with previous AtoN Reviews, the coasts under the jurisdiction of Trinity House have been broken down into areas numbered 8-14. Areas 1-7 being the responsibility of the Northern Lighthouse Board and 15-21 coming under the jurisdiction of the commissioners of Irish Lights.
You can download a PDF version of this consultation document below. Any comments you may have on the proposed changes to the AtoN contained in the review schedule should be sent direct to Trinity House, as outlined in the consultation document. When responding it would be appreciated if those who are members of the RIN could mention this affiliation, so that Trinity House is aware of the responses coming from our membership.
The deadline for submission of comments for this Trinity House user consultation exercise is 14 January 2015.
The Commissioners of Irish Lights (CIL) and the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) have carried out similar AtoN Reviews, which are also out for consultation. A link to the news item about the CIL AtoN Review can be found below.
Details of the NLB AtoN Review will be published on the RIN website shortly.
