The rise of an airline following the Second world War

Tuesday 11th April 2017. Following a brief AGM at 7:30pm, EM Branch RIN Chair, Captain Steve Hogarth, will describe the emergence and impact of an innovative post Second World War Airline - Silver City Airways. The British aviation industry has seen the rise and fall of many airlines in the last 60 years, but few were as colourful as Silver City Airways.
From a very small private charter operation it quickly grew, despite significant economic and political odds, into a large scheduled and extremely innovative airline and its role in the development of British air transport has become almost legendary. Tea and Coffee will be available from 7pm
