Introduction, guided tour, convivial lunch then afternoon free

This event is the HANG Summer Museum Visit which is now 4 weeks away on Wed 13 June. Please note that this is a week later than previously advertised; the Museum asked for the change and we have contacted all members who have already booked.

We will visit the Mosquito Museum at Salisbury Hall, London Colney, Hertfordshire. It is intended to be a light-hearted day suited to all RIN members, their friends and their relatives.

Participants will gather in the café by 11.30 when the Museum Director will give a talk on the collection. He will then take us on a guided tour; our brief to the Director has been ‘show us the exhibits that most interest you’.

At 13.00 we will gather for a buffet lunch, with wine, in a hangar amongst de Havilland aircraft. That leaves the afternoon to wander back through the museum in your own time.

The museum’s pride is their Mosquito trio: a B.Mk35 bomber, an FB Mk VI intruder and the only surviving WW2 prototype. The military heritage follows with the Venom Night Fighter, Swiss Vampire, Sea Vixen and Sea Venom. In addition they have several de Havilland passenger aircraft and light aircraft.

The price will be £25 to cover entry, the buffet lunch with wine and a donation to the museum’s funds. Please use the link below to register and pay. There will be a £5 reduction for children aged 5-16.
