Weather and Sailing, Ireland, an inaugural seminar held by the Royal Institute of Navigation and the Irish Met Society is to be held in Dún Laoghaire.

Weather and Sailing, Ireland, an inaugural seminar held by the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) and the Irish Met Society is to be held in Dún Laoghaire.

For a number of years now, the RIN has run the popular biennial Weather and Sailing Seminar in the UK, in conjunction with RMetS. Following on from this success, the Institute has decided to extend the reach of this Seminar by offering the opportunity for members and non-members alike to attend a similar event in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland.

Dún Laoghaire is only 20km from Dublin airport and can be easily reached by either air coach direct from the airport or by bus/Dart train from Dublin City centre. This Seminar is being held in conjunction with the Irish Meteorological Society and hosted by the Royal Irish Yacht Club. We have a great line up of speakers, with more to come, which currently include:

Richard Falk, RYA
Evelyn Cusack, Deputy Head of Forecasting, Met Eireann.
Robert McCabe, Irish Lights
Gerald Bibot, Chief Executive Officer, Great Circle.
Capt. Colm Newport, Dublin Port Pilot.
Jessica Sweeney, Meteorologist to the Landrover BAR Americas Cup Team (over video link from Melbourne provided we can make it work!)

Further details, including the costs and registration details for attending this event will be posted soon.
