Andy’s talk will include the development of British nuclear weapons and the evolution of the Valiant, Victor, and Vulcan to form the Medium Bomber Force (MBF). He’ll discuss their operational effectiveness and tactics including the requirement to use electronic warfare (EW) rather than guns for defence.

He’ll address Anglo-US targeting and the UK National Plan against Russia. Also discussed will be the development and introduction of the British Blue Steel and the cancelling of the US Skybolt stand-off weapons for use against the most heavily defended targets; and the need, eventually, to go from very high to very low level operations as surface-to-air missiles performance increased.

Reference will be made throughout upon the overall impact of having MBF upon British prestige and foreign policy.

If you have any of Andy's books on your bookshelf, please bring them along for Andy to sign.
