In a recent interview with hydro-international.com the director-general of the French hydrographic office (Shom),Laurent Kerléguer, noted that the next challenge for Shom will be to implement the new S-100 framework. According to the International Hydrographic Organization website (http://s100.iho.int/S100/home/s100-introduction), the S-100 Standard is a framework document that is intended for the development of digital products and services for hydrographic, maritime and GIS communities. It comprises multiple parts that are based on the geospatial standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization, Technical Committee 211 (ISO/TC211).
