Speaker – John Pottle
Director Royal Institute of Navigation
How accurate is GPS? Do more satellites make for more accuracy? How do you know if you’re being jammed or spoofed? Can the US turn off GPS?
In addition to addressing these questions, the talk will review the latest alternative and complementary positioning technologies, the use of “big data” techniques and augmented reality.
The speaker joined the RIN as Director
in 2017 Before this, he was in industry
directing Spirent’s Positioning
Technology business unit and as
Commercial Development Director
at Intelsat, Washington DC, USA.
There will be the opportunity for informal discussion in the Wardroom Bar before and afterwards.
