A GLONASS-M satellite was launched from Plesetsk at 2128 Moscow time (1828 UTC) on 16 March.

The booster and the satellite separated from the carrier rocket 10 minutes after launch and it is reported that the military have assumed control of the spacecraft and its systems are operating normally.

GLONASS comprises 24 operational spacecraft in 3 circular medium earth orbits (MEO) at ~19,100 km (11,900 miles) inclined at 64.8º. This launch will replace slot 24 in plane 3, whose current satellite was launched in 2010.
