OS launches new hand-held GPS

Ordnance Survey’s Aventura 2 is their latest generation of large screen handheld satnav, using GPS, GLONASS and Galileo.

The device also includes an accelerometer, barometric altimeter and 3-axis compass, set in a case with a 3.7" (~9cm) transflective touchscreen. It is protected against the likes of dust and sand, and will function for at least 30 minutes under up to 1m of water. It carries a 30 hr removable battery.

Internal mapping includes a 1:250k base-map together with full OS 1:50k GB mapping and 12 free selectable OS 1:25k map tiles. It contains 16GB of internal memory and can take microSD expansion of up to 64GB. Costing £474.99, purchase also includes a 3-year subscription to OS Maps Premium.
